Tough Week

Last week was pretty hard. I started work and the boys started daycare, which did not go well. Monday started out all right because it was new to them and they were distracted when we left. But they were both bawling when we picked them up that afternoon. Then they both cried for a lot of the day on Wednesday. Will was so upset during lunch that he wouldn't eat anything, and Ryan didn't drink any fluids all day. Thank goodness, yesterday went much better. There were still plenty of tears when we dropped them off, but word on the street is that they did really pretty much all right for the rest of the day. When we asked Will to identify what he liked best during the day he said, "Hitting the people who are annoying in school." That's my boy!

  • Did he actually use the word "annoying"? That is awesome! I love it when Rorie does that kind of stuff. Currently, she has taken to saying "Yep" and "Nope" for yes and no.

  • Yes, he did say "annoying." Well, it was more "annoyin'." He doesn't really get the whole -ing thing, but that's reasonable.

Will has been saying "yep" and "nope" for a long time, and it drives me crazy because when he says them they sound almost identical so I have to ask him three or four times what he means. I'm trying to get him to say "YES" instead of "yep" for that reason.

  • That was always my favorite part of school too . . . glad to hear the boys are starting to settle in a bit better! Give them big hugs from me!
    Love,
