First day
Today was Will's first day at daycare. He did great. He was happy and smiley when we left him and asleep in a swing when we picked him back up. We didn't go to work today because our places of employment were closed for Pres. Ford's funeral, so instead we went to the mall, which was a far nicer way to spend a few hours than being at work, especially since we had lunch at Panda Express. My orange chicken Panda Bowl tasted just the ones at UCSB, which offered great comfort. Still, I was anxious pretty much the whole time we were gone that I hadn't left enough milk, but I guess it wasn't a problem. When we picked him up the director told us that he was a joy, which made me feel really happy.
The picture above has nothing to do with daycare, but I like it.

Hey, we just figured out that Rorie likes sitting in her sling that way too. We kept on trying to shove her in there all curled up tight like a newborn and she hated it. She hated it when she was newborn too, actually, but she couldn't hold her head up then. Of course, her cooperation, as always, is temporary.
Glad to hear daycare went well.
If you haven't seen these yet, you should check out the Bumbo. It's a chair for babies that hold their head up - it holds the rest of them up. I bet Will would love it. Rorie likes it but she still appears to have a bit of a bobble-head so she can't sit in it too long.

Truth be told, Will collapsed into frustrated tears just seconds after this picture was taken and I haven't had the guts to give it a second try! But Matt got a Baby Bjorn for Christmas, and Will seems to like it better. His head control is getting really good, but it also isn't yet perfect. We have to put a hand on his head when he's facing forward in the Bjorn. I have heard good things about the Bumbo. I should check it out. Will hates being held in any sort of cradle position now unless he's eating. He's always trying to sit up.
