Experimentation

I'm not sure what's going on with the comments. It seems that Blogger now has its own commenting capabilities, so I don't think I need Haloscan anymore. But I definitely lost all of my old comments. I'm going to keep creating posts until I figure out if I like this new template and how the commenting works.

  • Own commenting capabilities? Well, that's pretty sweet. I'm afraid of losing my old comments, though.

  • But in order to post comments on blogger, you either need to post anonymously, or sign in. (Or remember to add your name to an anonymous post like I am doing right now). - Lizzie

  • Yeah, I guess it's like LiveJournal that way. I think that's kinda shabby, but it looks like you can delete comments now too, which is nice if, as I sometimes do, you double-post.

  • Oh, that is lame. The sign-in thing to post comments, that is. Hmmm. I'll work on that. I might go back to Haloscan, if I can.

  • Hey, I bet they're just gone because the new template doesn't have the code in it for Haloscan. You'd just need to reinsert it, like you did the first time.
Sorry, but that just occurred to me.

  • Yeah, I figured that was the problem, but I haven't decided if I want to go back to Haloscan. Sure, it's annoying for people to have to sign in or go anonymously to leave comments, but I like the way it looks through Blogger. I don't mind losing the old comments, either. I'm going to leave it this way for a while, and see how it works out. If it gets too burdensome, I'll try to change it back.
