Tonight we let Will "cry it out" for real for the first time ever. You know what's even more heartbreaking than the screaming? The silence after he's totally given up that we're coming for him.

What does that mean? Why is he crying? Are you trying to put him to bed and he doesn't want to go? Will we have to do that with Rorie? She is obsessed with going to bed at 8pm right now. We leave her in there, and we don't hear a peep. I guess we let her cry it out a couple months ago, and she responded really well, but she was much younger and more flexible then. I'm scared in any case.

We let Rorie cry it out for only 5 minutes! Then we couldn't take it anymore and went in there to calm her down. It turned out she had actually fallen asleep and was crying in her sleep.
