Retirement

So, I guess you've noticed that Ryan has gotten huge. He is in the 90th and 95th percentiles for height and weight respectively, so he is tall and pleasantly plump. As a result, I've had to retire all of his 0-3 month clothes, which made me sort of sad. I really shouldn't be--he is two and a half months old, so it isn't really even all that early, although I did force him into my favorites of his little outfits for probably a good week or two longer than I should have. I think Will was just so much smaller that he wore his tiny clothes for much longer and I just sort of figured that Ryan would do the same. Ryan had this one set of onesies that I loved--they were a present from Auntie Em (Henry happens to have the same set)--and I went to the Carter's outlet a week or so ago hoping to find them in the next size up because I loved them so much, but to no avail. They had a similar set with the same colors and patterns, but instead of puppies the new set featured sports. Yuck. But it's OK. Ryan has no shortage of cute 3-6 month clothes, and I have to say that they're not really even all that much too big.

Anyway, above are pictures of Ryan sitting in Will's baby papasan chair. Will used to not let Ryan sit in it, but this week Will smartened up and realized that if Ryan sat in his chair, Will could sit on my lap. So he's now much more open to sharing his chair with his little brother.

Ryan is a neat little baby. He loves to look at people and talk to them ("oooh, oooh, oooh" makes up most of his end of the conversation). And it is relatively easy to make him smile, which I think is very cool. He watches Will all the time, and it is so cute. Sure, he may be watching mostly to prepare himself for the next body slam, but I think he also just enjoys seeing his big brother play and talk and read.
