Renovations

This is our new cat door, expertly installed on the cellar door. We had to tape the flap open because both of the cats are idiots and don't understand that they can push it open. We moved the cat food and litter boxes into the cellar last week in preparation for moving Will into his new bedroom downstairs, where we used to keep the cat food and litter boxes. There is still a lot of work to be done before the big move, but at least we've made progress. This past weekend we totally cleaned out the bedroom that will be Will's new room and rearranged the guest room so that it is now the guest room and the office and the home gym. The overall effect is surprisingly pleasing. We just hope that we can open the futon without hitting the desk.

Some Parenting Advice

It turns out that it is not a good idea to engage your 17-month-old child in helping to empty the paper-shredder bin. Well, he had a good time.

This incident actually occurred last week, but there's been no time around here to blog since then because we've been far too busy passing a nasty stomach bug from person to person. I had it for four days last week, Will has had it since Tuesday, and Matt developed symptoms yesterday. I think everyone is in recovery mode now, though. Just in time for the weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sorry, Aunt Meggie

But congratulations to the Giants!

We watched the Superbowl in Pittsburgh during a very nice visit with Robbie, Jess, and Henry. We ate lots of Mexican food this weekend, which was, frankly, awesome. We played a lot and Will and Henry got to know each other a bit. Will really wanted Henry to eat cheese, but settled for handing him a toy instead. Will also punched Henry, but my official story is that it was out of excitement. Also, I'm glad Henry didn't get hurt and I don't condone violence, but Will really should beat up on him now while he still can. I suspect that when they next see each other in May Henry will be bigger than Will.
